In what promises to be a not-to-miss family fun explosion, finest musicians in Zimbabwe will be part of an assortment of exciting family fun activities that have been lined up for this year’s Commissioner General of Police Funfair to held on the 27th of this month.

The star-studded cast of invited artistes includes Alick Macheso, Sulumani Chimbetu, Jah Prayzah, Sabastin Magacha, Fungisai Zvakavapano- Mashavave, Sandra Ndebele, Nicholas Zakaria, the Charambas, Snipper Storm and Police Band.

The kids favourite clown, Ajigija, has been invited while police displays, horse races, jumping castles, among other activities will offer attendants a good value for their money.

Entry tickets are selling at $3, for adults, $1 for kids, games and pony rides.

Two vehicles, a single cab 4x2 Ford Ranger and a Toyota vitz, await to be collected, not to talk about other prizes. The grand raffle draw will see a variety of prizes that include motorcycle, generators, holidays trips among other prizes being won by lucky winners.

Rewind the clock back to last year, Mr Adrick Nagoma of Hatfield drove away the much coveted Ford Ranger while other lucky winners included Constable Nqobizita Mpofu of Chivhu Traffic who won the Yamaha motor cycle, and the then Recruit Constables Godknows Ncube, Elder Mazvi (DVD player)and Ephyson Chihiya who walked away with holiday trips.

Interestingly, on the musical front, the charity show is being held at a time when the temperatures have risen with big musicians are about to release their 2014 productions with fans and critics eagerly waiting.

The showbiz fever is stirring up and the entertainment temperatures have already risen as this is the time that fans speculate and are keen to sample forthcoming productions.

The Charambas have already done it, so did Jah Prayzah.

Charambas who recently released WeNazareta and fresh from the Australian tour will lead the gospel troops together with Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, and Sabastin Magacha.

In an interview just before the departure to Australia, Mai Charamba said the fans would have a good time at the Funfair and the gospel power couple was still trying to select their playlist but said would choose some new songs to sample.

“We will give the best but on the new songs we are still to decide on which ones we will play she said.

Indeed as the family show needs spiritual blessing and the gospel musicians will take the lead.

Sebastin Magacha is coming to the Funfair for the first time although he has featured on Kuyedza Shows at Morris Depot before. He is expected to summon his usual well-chorographed stage work to woo the gospel music lovers.

Sulumani Chimbetu, who seems to have clinched the King of Dendera title due to consistence and professionalism, has hinted that he will next month drop his much-hyped 2014 release that features a duet with the US based self-exiled Zimbabwean musician, Thomas Mapfumo.

Talk of this album, Sulu is poised to make a lot of noise, if what he has been sampling during his live shows is anything to go by. With his team that have veteran guitarists who played with Simon Chimbetu that  include Solo Makore, Knowledge Nodza Nodza and Mofatt Nyamupanedengu, Sulu’s band has since risen to be among the best entertainers.

Another beautiful performance is expected from Sandra Ndebele who has remained one of the female musicians to woo the crowds with her agility, the energetic dances that have made her popular with the fans.

In the other camp, sungura giants also form a crack team.

Alick Macheso now adoringly known as Baba Sharo at live shows is also expected to offer a good treat as he has proved he is the man behind his success. Although much has been circulating about his new release, some linking the closure of Last Power as the main reason behind the delays of an album release, Cheso has been sampling some tracks from his forthcoming album and his live has never disappointed. Much is expected from him with his orchestra Mberikwazvo outfit.

Cheso, a former Khiama Boy will not serenade sungura fans alone as his master will belt from the other end. Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria who maintains that he will continue using his title as Madzibaba although he has since moved from his Masowe sect to Prophet Walter Magaya’s Prophetic Healing Deliverance is expected to be another great entertainer. He is expected to belt yesteryear hits such as Ida anokuda, Tsamba and Mabvi Namagokora.

Fans should also look forward to the electric performance of Jah Prayzah, who recently dropped a hit single Soja Rinofa richimuka. Jah Prayzah literary Jah Praiser, the one who praise God, has been rising and nothing short of thrill is expected from the Mutoko born musician.

Another soldier, Snipper Storm will also give the fans  value for their money and with his new offering Silver Bullet, he is expected to the fans who seem to like his music.

The day will also offer members of the public to learn more about the police as it will also act as an exhibition show for police departments. Sections that are set to parade their services are Recruiting, Police Band, CID Drugs, Victim Friendly Unit, Border Control and Minerals Unit, Kuyedza Club, among other departments.

All proceeds to charity, so meet you there!!!!!!!!
